JEAN MARIE CLOUSE-SHILDMYER

ALBANY, INDIANA

Jean Marie Clouse-Shildmyer, 50, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2012 in IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.

A native of Grant County, she was born September 3, 1961, and grew up in Grant and Blackford Counties. She had resided in Reeds Spring, Missouri prior to moving back to Indiana.

Jean adored her grandchildren, and also loved music, fishing and bowling.

She is survived by one son, Stephen Carney, three daughters, Nina (Jesse) Brown, Jesse (Tylor) Woods, and Princess Shildmyer,(fiancée, Joshua Dennis), five sisters, Laura (Steve) Lyons, Joyce Poer, Jill Hogue, Janelle Coonce (fiancée, Nathan Dickison), Julie (Dr. John P.) Jesseph, and a brother-in-law, Michael Berry. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Aaron Oldham, Madison Carney, Zane Brown, Mylee Woods, Kaylor Woods and a sixth grandchild due in May and 29 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Richard Clouse and a brother, Mike Gerstorff, on July 10, 2007.

A celebration of life service will be Sunday, March 25, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in Muncie First Church of the Nazarene, 3101 N. Benton Road.

Waters Funeral Home, Hartford City, is handling cremation arrangements.

CLARENCE ROBERT HOLTZLEITER

HARTFORD CITY, IN

Clarence Robert Holtzleiter, 87, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at IU Health Blackford Hospital.

The son of Conrad and Hilda (Ortman) Holtzleiter, he was born February 12, 1925 in Grant County. Clarence graduated from Jefferson Township High School, Upland, in 1943 and married Janice Jenkins in Hartford City on July 10, 1947.

After serving in the U. S. Navy during W. W. II, he worked at CPC, Marion, retiring in 1987 after 28 years of employment, and he also farmed.

Clarence was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the CPC Sympathy Club.

Survivors include: his wife, Janice; three daughters, Theresa Moorman, rural Hartford City, Connie (Michael) Williams, Orlando, FL and Elizabeth (Steve) Gress, Morrisville, NC; one brother, Edward (Mary Jane) Holtzleiter, rural Hartford City; seven grandchildren, including Robin Johnson, who was raised by the Holtzleiters and nine great-grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Dave Newton at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 24 in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 209 S. Spring St., Hartford City. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, Muncie.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 23 and from 9-9:30 a.m. Saturday at Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made in the form of masses to the church.

CAROL SUE SMITH

HARTFORD CITY, INDIANA

Carol Sue Smith, 76, passed away Friday, March 2, 2012 in IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie.

Sue was born October 25, 1935 in Hartford City, the daughter of Kenneth and Mary (Fuller) Hoffman. She graduated from Hartford City High School in 1953 and from St. Vincent School of Nursing, Indianapolis, in 1958. Sue married Robert J. Smith in Markle on January 30, 1958.

She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Muncie. A registered nurse, she had worked at Ball Memorial Hospital, Blackford County Hospital, and retired from Marion General Hospital.

Surviving are: a son, Robert (Susan) Smith, Hartford City; a son-in-law, Doug Hutson, Hartford City; two brothers, Thomas (Patricia) Hoffman, Daleville and Kenneth (Brenda) Hoffman, Aledo, Texas; four sisters, Bonnie Haney, Harriett Lapham, Debra Townsend, all of Hartford City, and Emmajo Gray, Midway, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Erik Smith, Rachel (Matt) Lyon, Wendy Hutson (fiancé, Darrick), Betsy and Evan Hutson; eight great-grandchildren, Landon Nuckols, Corbin Dickson, Owen Nuckols, Braydon
Walter, Spencer Hutson, Elisha, Joshua and Enoch Lyon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bob, her daughter Nancy Hutson and four sisters Ada Hoffman, Mary Jean Mathews, Patricia Hoffman and Jane Ann Hoffman.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Dennis Goth at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 8 in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1700 W. Riverside Ave., Muncie.
Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Eaton.

Friends may call at Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City, from
4 - 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials may be made in the form of masses to St. Francis of Assisi Church.
