JANET E. CHARNLEY


HARTFORD CITY, INDIANA
Janet E. Charnley, 64, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013 in I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
She was born on January 20, 1949 to Carl Robert “Bob” and Mary (Baker) Futrell in Hartford City, Indiana. Janet graduated from Hartford City High School in 1967 and married Nicholas Charnley on November 2, 1968.
She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Janet is survived by her husband, Nicholas; two sons, Nick (Neena) Charnley, Hartford City, and Josh (Jaime) Charnley, Hartford City; three daughters, Gayle (Steve) Zavattaro, Hartford City, Marie Bartrum, Upland, and Rita “Libby” (Dave) Willmann, Hartford City; her father, Carl Robert Futrell, Hartford City, and her mother, Mary Taylor, Muncie; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and five siblings, Judy Futrell, Cindy Futrell, Nancy Griffith, Bobby (Rita) Futrell, and Bill (Allicia) Futrell.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Charnley.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Dave Newton at 10 A.M. Thursday, April 18, 2013 in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 209 S. Spring St., Hartford City. Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery.
Friends may call at Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 and from 9:00 to 9:30 A.M. on Thursday.
A Christian Wake Service will be held at 5 P.M. Wednesday at Waters Funeral Home.

FLOYD M. COOK


MONTPELIER, INDIANA
Floyd M. Cook, 72, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013 at his daughter’s home in Montpelier.
Floyd was born on December 6, 1940 to Oscar and Earline (Grove) Cook in Hartford City, Indiana. He graduated from Hartford City High School in 1958 and married Patsie Eldridge on November 28, 1969.
Floyd was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. He worked at Visy Recycling, retiring in 2002.   
He is survived by his children: Cheryl (Kerry) LaMotte, Hartford City, Celina (Allen) Osborn, West Lafayette, Chanda (Kent) Armstrong, Merritt Island, FL, Jeffrey (Pam) Cook, Paris, TN, Jennifer Barton, Montpelier, Angela (Paul) Price, Muncie, Heather Anderson, Hartford City; 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Patsie in 2003, and a sister, Michelle Cowgill.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 19, 2013 at Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City with Rev. Bobby Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, Muncie.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 18, 2013 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M and after 10:00 A.M. on Friday.

BETTY L. RENNER


HARTFORD CITY, INDIANA

Betty L. Renner, 91, passed away Friday, April 12, 2013 at Hoosier Village, Indianapolis
She was born January 16, 1922 in Boise, Idaho, the daughter of Bernard and Wave (Mason) Baughman. She moved to Ligonier, Indiana, at the age of 2 and graduated from Ligonier High School in 1940. She married Robert W. Renner in Ligonier on October 22, 1944.
A homemaker, Betty served in the Women’s Army Corp in WW II. She moved to Hartford City in 1959 after residing in South Bend and Muncie.
Betty was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and was a district officer of Wapahani Girl Scout Council and a Girl Scout Leader for 20 years. She was an honorary member of both Psi Iota Xi Sorority and Research Club and a member of American Legion Post 159.
Surviving are: her husband, Robert; three daughters, Rebecca Renner, Hartford City, Barbara (Norman) Schmidt, Indianapolis, and Beverly (Jeffrey) Green, Fishers; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Renner, Montpelier; two sisters, Marilyn Goudy, Angola and Mary Jo Fereday, Tacoma, Washington; six grandchildren, Amanda (Shawn) Lee, Keith (Lisa) Renner, Jennifer (Ken) Hovis, Jason Schmidt, Kelsey Green and Sarah Green and eight great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Robert Jr., and a brother, Bernard Baughman Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 17 in Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St. Hartford City with Rev. Lloyd Hall officiating. Entombment will follow in Gardens of Memory Mausoleum, Muncie, with military rites by Delaware County Veterans Organization.
Friends may call at Waters Funeral Home from 3 – 7 p.m. Tuesday and after 10 a.m. Wednesday.

KATHERINE JUNE BAILEY


HARTFORD CITY, IN
Katherine June Bailey, 88, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at IU Health Blackford Community Hospital.

Katherine was born on April 2, 1925 to Allen and Blanch (McGriff) Chambers in Muncie, Indiana. She later married Ray Bailey.
Katherine loved to play bingo and listen to music.
She is survived by her daughter, Dixie (George) Ustic, Hartford City; 7 grandchildren: Steve (Shannan) Bell, Jeff (Stephanie) Bell, Jennifer Ustic, Brian Bradford, Angie (John) Beeman, Misty Kabrich, and David Bailey; 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray, in 1980; infant son, Jerry Bailey in 1947; son, Rick Bailey in 1997; daughter, Penny Bradford in 2003; grandson, Ryan Bell in 1987; and 7 brothers: Bill, Charles, Robert, Gene, Earl, Jay and Yank Chambers; and 3 sisters: Phyllis Kirby, Ruby Hines, and Josie Van Skyhock
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City, with Rev. Lloyd Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, Muncie.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at the funeral home from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, April 5, 2013 and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
