HARRIETT J. LAPHAM


Hartford City, IN
Harriett J. Lapham, 64, has joined her parents, Kenneth and Mary Hoffman, sisters Patricia L. Hoffman, Jane Ann Hoffman, Ada Hoffman, Mary Jean Mathews, Carol Sue Smith, and husband Dr. Robert Lapham in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Harriett was born June 18, 1949 and passed away in the comfort of her own home on July 1, 2013. She was cared for by Family Life Care Hospice and her loving sisters, Bonetha Haney , Debra E. Townsend, Emmajo Gray, brothers Thomas R. Hoffman (Pat), Kenneth R. Hoffman (Brenda), and nieces, Janie Velasquez (Bob) and Regina Arnold (Doug) in her final days.

Other surviving family members include nieces, Sara Haney, Melissa James (Keith), Cristy Matthews (Kenny), Angela Pulley, Mary Getty and Rosealee Hoffman. Niece Nancy Hutson preceded Harriett in death.
Surviving nephews are Robert Smith (Susie), Jay Hoffman (Kathy), Todd Hoffman (Teri), Jim Lloyd (Vivian), and David Pulley. Several great nieces and nephews also survive Harriett.
Harriett was preceded in death by brothers -in-law Robert Smith, Daniel Haney, and Tom Gray and a sister-in-law, Glenda K. Hoffman.
There will be only a private family viewing at Waters Funeral Home in Hartford City.
A Mass of Christian Burial for the public will be celebrated by Father Dave Newton at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 6 in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 209 S. Spring St., Hartford City. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Eaton.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations may be made to Lifestream Services, 1923 W. Fourth St., Marion, IN 46952, or to the Blackford County Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 70, Hartford City, IN 47348.

Kimberly Hornbaker


HARTFORD CITY, IN


            Kimberly L. Hornbaker, 58, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2013, at her home, following a short, but courageous battle with cancer.

            Kim was born in Hartford City, January 8, 1955 and was a 1973 graduate of Muncie South High School.  She married Gail N. Hornbaker on April 24, 1987 in Miami, Florida.  He preceded her in death on November 30, 1993.

            She was a member of the Hartford City American Legion auxiliary and the Hartford City Amvets auxiliary and was well known throughout the community in her occupation as a bartender.  Kim was an avid I.U. fan.

            Surviving family include her daughter, Courtney, her parents, Bill and Mary Michael of Muncie, two step-brothers; Robert W. Michael (Debbie) of Huber Heights, Ohio and Jerry L. Michael of Troy, Ohio.

            In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by a son Croix Nicholas Hornbaker and a step-brother, William D. Michael.

            Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City, with Rev. Nancy Middaugh presiding.  Burial will follow the services in Hartford City Cemetery.

            Visitation will be Tuesday, July 2nd, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm and one hour prior to services on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
