Hartford City
Jon Leslie Love, 67, passed away Saturday morning in I. U.
Health Ball Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.
Les was born in Hartford City on January 12, 1948 to Hansel
and Elsie (Clamme) Love. He graduated from Hartford City High School in 1966
and served as his class president. He attended Ball State University prior to
joining the Army. After his service during the Vietnam War, he graduated from
Purdue University with a bachelor in Animal Science. While at Purdue, he was a
member of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity and was a member of the Purdue Judging
Team winning the national competition.
Les was the manager and herdsman of Loveland, Inc. which was
his family’s farm operation south of Hartford City.
Les enjoyed watching sports, especially Purdue sports,
maintaining his yard, and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include a brother, Mark; two sisters, Joan Valente
and Ann (Phillip) Gardner; aunts and uncles, Louanna Mossburg, Margaret Denton,
Louise Clamme and Don (Marsha) Love.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 23
in Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City with Pastor David M.
Fleener officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Eaton.
Friends may call at Waters Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m.
Tuesday, December 22 and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
