GEORGE WILLIAM “DUNCAN” REIDY

FORT WAYNE

The loss of George William Duncan Reidy, aged 24 years old, is no small one. It’s never easy to say goodbye to a loved one, but Duncan bore a special place in the hearts of all who knew him. The struggle of mental illness is not one to be glossed over, and Duncan battled his fair share of demons, but we will not remember him for that—we will remember Duncan for his contagious smile, his quick wit, and his sense of humor. How he was kind, accompanying others on mission trips for Hurricane Katrina relief in 2006 at the age of 15 and in Detroit. He was a lover of film and music and enjoyed writing and learning—always learning. He will be carried forever in the hearts of the people he touched and in the places we knew him.
Duncan was born in Fort Wayne on July 14, 1991 to Thomas and Karen (Brown) Reidy. He attended Fort Wayne Northrup High School and was employed as a chef at J. K. O’Donnels, Fort Wayne.

Surviving are: his father, Thomas Reidy,  his mother, Karen Brown, a brother, David Reidy, a sister Katherine Reidy; grandparents, Karleen Reidy, Hartford City and William and Retta Brown, Indianapolis; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, George Reidy.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 21 in Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City with Father Dave Newton officiating.
Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
