MONTELLE A. “MONTE” NEEDLER


Muncie
Montelle A. “Monte” Needler, 65, former Hartford City businessman and well-known Muncie realtor, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016 at Westminster Village, Muncie.

He was born in Hartford City on February 2, 1951 to Arthur A. and Imogene (Clements) Needler. Monte graduated from Hartford City High School in 1969 and received a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration from Ball State University.
Monte was Secretary/Treasurer of Hoover-Needler Furniture Company from 1977-1994. He obtained his real estate license and was affiliated with F. C. Tucker/O.C. Clark. From 2001-2003 he was Vice President of Sales for Century 21 Realty Group, Muncie. In 2003 he became Vice President of Coldwell Banker Lunsford, serving as General Manager.

His memberships in Hartford City included: Common Council, Board of Works, Chamber of Commerce, United Way, and Kiwanis Club, serving as President of all. In Muncie he held several offices in Mid-Eastern Indiana Association of Realtors and was chosen Realtor of the Year in 2008. He belonged to Indiana Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors, was a member of Muncie-Delaware Chamber of Commerce, Ball State Cardinal Varsity Club and volunteered for Muncie Habitat for Humanity.
Monte was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Muncie and had served as an Elder.

Survivors include one son, Kenton (Susan) Needler, his mother, Imogene Needler, Hartford City, two brothers, Michael Scott (Kathy) Needler and Arthur D. “Art” (Joyce) Needler, one grandson, Jack Needler and his former wife, Dawna, who cared for him to the end.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 14 at First Presbyterian Church, 1400 W. Riverside Ave., Muncie with the Rev. Dr. Ronald Naylor officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 13 from 4-8 p.m. at the church and one hour prior to services on Thursday.

FLOYD K. ELLIOTT



Floyd K. Elliott, 100, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2016 in Heritage Pointe, Warren.
He was born in Hartford City on January 23, 1916 to Ralph and Icie (Kessler) Elliott. He graduated from Hartford City High School.

Floyd married Martha Louise Banter on July 19, 1937 in Hartford City. He served in the US Navy from 1944-45 aboard a submarine chaser.
Mr. Elliott was a letter carrier for the Hartford City Post Office for many years retiring in 1976.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, American Legion Post #159 and Amvets #23 all in Hartford City.
Floyd enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include: one daughter, Nancy (Roger) Falk, Roll; one son, Dallas (Laura) Elliott, Wilmington, NC; five grandchildren, Jodie (Falk) Labordus, White House, Ohio, Todd Falk, Fishers, Indiana, Lance Falk, Montpelier, Andrew Elliott, New Jersey and Lindsey (Elliott) Hosford, Wilmington, North Carolina. Also surviving are 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Martha, two brothers, Qwen “Speed” Elliott and A. O. “Speck” Elliott and two sisters, Icie Drayer and Ruth Rea.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2016 in Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City with Rev. Todd Falk officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, Muncie.
Friends may call at Waters Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 22 prior to the funeral.

DANIEL E. HEISER


Hartford City
Daniel E. Heiser, 52, passed away of natural causes on Monday, June 27, 2016 at his home.

He was born in Blackford County on May 26, 1964 and attended Blackford County schools.
Daniel was a truck driver working for several different companies through the years.

Survivors include: his parents, John and Dian Hedges, daughter, Alexa Heiser ; brothers and sisters, Dietz (Cindy) Heiser, Tom (Kazuki) Heiser, Heidi Still (Marty Hobbs), Marla Camp (Trudy), Brad (Noley) Hedges, Daniel (Courtney) Hedges, Martin Boothby (Marlin), June (Randy) Gilleland, Judy Rodriguez, Jack Boothby, Bill Veler, Becky (Dave) Keasling, Terri (Randy) Browning and Linda Boothby. Several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews also survive.
A funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, July 3, 2016 in Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City with Pastor Dave Keasling officiating.

Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home.
