HARTFORD CITY, IN
Wilma H. Smith, 90, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2013 in IU
Health Blackford Hospital.
Wilma was born in Blackford County September 23, 1922. She
attended Carney School as one of three students in a one room school and
graduated from Hartford City High School in 1940. She married Kenneth Smith in
Muncie on June 28, 1946. His death occurred October 19, 2003.A homemaker, Wilma had been employed years ago by Bell Telephone Co.
Survivors include guardian, Patricia Yarling (husband, John Yarling, M.D.), Kokomo and special friends, Steve and Traci Ort, Hartford City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her daughter, Dr. Jocelyn Smith, who was associated with Whitson Vision, Indianapolis and her favorite pets, Sparky and Molly.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 8 in Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City with Rev. Lloyd Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the
funeral home.
