Delores E. McIntire, 91, passed away Friday, March 25 in Woodcrest Nursing Center, Decatur.
The daughter of John and Faye (Bookout) Powers, she was born April 6, 1919 in Hartford City. She married Leo G. McIntire on October 3, 1936 in Hartford City. His death occurred September 12, 1990.
A homemaker, Delores had worked as a nurse’s aide at Blackford County Hospital for over 15 years. She had formerly attended Dunkirk Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include three sons, Phillip McIntire, Gas City, David (Jo Ellen) McIntire, Decatur, and J.R. (Lanelle) McIntire, Kokomo, six grandchildren, Casey (Gary) Morrison, Mike (Missy) McIntire, Mark (Carrie) McIntire, Kelly (Josh) Roby, Scarlett Boothe and Ryan McIntire, thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers, Bobby and Donald Powers.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 30 in Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City with her son, David McIntire officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, Muncie.
Friends may call from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at Waters Funeral Home.
