BRIAN J. FETTIG

JOSHUA, TEXAS

Brian J. Fettig, 73, former Hartford City resident, passed away November 2, 2011 at his home in Joshua, Texas.

He was born December 24, 1937 in Elwood, Indiana, the son of Bernard and Genevieve (Ross) Fettig. He was a 1956 graduate of Roll High School and married Marilyn Sue Jones in Hartford City on May 23, 1959.

Brian had been associated with the Fettig Canning Company, Elwood, and was a former Blackford County farmer prior to moving to Texas in 1984. Mr. Fettig was plant manager for Indicom Buildings, Inc. in Texas.

He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Hartford City.

Surviving are: his wife, Marilyn Sue; his children, Mary Jo (Tom) Jung, Granbury, TX, Angela Ryan, Joshua, TX, Brenda (Bruce) Winder, Palmer, Alaska and Neil (Susan) Fettig, Burleson, TX; 2 brothers, Ross (Mary Ann) Fettig, Sandborn, IN and Ted (Muriel) Fettig, Hartford City; brother-in-law, Merrill Rhodes, Hartford City; 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Brian was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jean Ann Rhodes.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Dave Newton at 10 a.m. Monday, November 7, 2011 in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 209 S. Spring St., Hartford City. Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City from 1-4 p.m. Sunday and 9-9:30 a.m. Monday. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
