DIXIE A. CHARNLEY

HARTFORD CITY, IN

Dixie A. Charnley, 64, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at IU Health Blackford Hospital after an extended illness.

She was born August 13, 1947 in Leon, Kentucky, the daughter of John and Edna (Artist) King. A resident of Hartford City most of her life, she married Frederick (Rick) Charnley on November 7, 1964 in Hartford City.

A homemaker, she was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, Rick; a daughter, Rhonda (Jim) Moore, Hartford City; a son, Rick (Teri) Charnley, Hartford City; a brother, Phil King, Florida; a sister, Bernice Carter, Olive Hill, Kentucky; 5 grandchildren, Jamie, Ryan, Rachel Moore, Evan and Kaiden Charnley; her mother-in-law, Rita Charnley, Hartford City.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Clayton, Vernon, and Marion King , sisters, Juanita Colegrove, Oretha Hall, Betty King, and father-in-law Ross Charnley.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated by Father Dave Newton at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 209 S. Spring St., Hartford City. Friends may visit the family after 9 a.m. Friday at the church.
