Jack L. Whitesell, 77, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2013
at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
Jack was born on March 2, 1936 to George W. and Marie
(Flatter) Whitesell in Hartford City.
He married Carol E. Pierce on March 2, 1957 in Marion,
Indiana.
Jack worked for GM in Marion for 42 years, retiring in 2001.
He was a life resident of Blackford County.
He loved watching baseball, especially the New York Yankees.
Survivors include his four sons, Tom (Rita) Whitesell of
Alexandria, Bill (Lynn) Whitesell of Hartford City, Paul (Kristin) Whitesell of
Hartford City, and Kevin (Jessica) Whitesell of Muncie; seven grandchildren,
Jennifier Kirk, Kristy Whitesell, Derek Norris, Braden Whitesell, Jaycee
Whitesell, Jenna Whitesell, and Kamryn Whitesell; four great-grandchildren,
Holly Kirk, Matthew Smith, Melody Garland, and Piper Norris; three siblings,
Donnie (Martha) Whitesell, Mary (Ron) Warner, and Jane Maddox, as well as
several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol in 2005, his
parents, nine brothers, George Whitesell, Larry Whitesell, Darrell Whitesell,
Charles Whitesell, Eldon Whitesell, Harry Whitesell, Jerry Whitesell, Thomas
Whitesell, and James Whitesell; and two sisters, Letha Hammond, and Wanda
Whitesell.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday,
November 27, 2013 at Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., with Pastor
Troy Kaufman officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, Muncie.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 10:00 A.M. to
1:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
