HARTFORD CITY, IN—
Betty L. Speidel, 90, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday,
January 2, 2014 at her home.
One of eight children
born to Joseph Earl and Edna (Harrold) Speidel, she graduated from Roll High
School, had worked at Sneath Glass Company, Deluxe Café, all in her younger
years. She retired from RCA of Marion after several years of employment and had
worked in the Union office there also.
A life resident of the area, she attended New Community Worship, Hartford City, was
active in the Democrat Party and loved all cats and dogs.
Betty is survived by her brother, James Speidel (wife,
Earlene) of Hartford City and several beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Bernetta,
and five brothers, Earl, Dean, Bobby Joe, Jack and Allan.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday,
January 7, 2014 in the Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford
City, with Rev. Dr. Gary Hall presiding. Burial will be in the Hartford City
Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Monday, January 6th from 5 –
8 p.m. and from 12:00 noon on Tuesday at the funeral home until the service.
