HARTFORD CITY, IN—
B. Virginia Risinger, age 90, passed away Wednesday morning,
September 3, 2014 at her residence.
The youngest and last surviving, of six children born to
Omer Louis and Mary Jane (Taughinbaugh) Risinger, she was born March 30, 1924
in Hartford City.
She graduated from
Hartford City High School, class of 1941, initially attended nursing school and
went on to graduate in 1947 from Ball State Teachers College.
A kindergarten teacher at Tipton Elementary School at
Logansport for thirty-seven years, Miss Risinger retired in 1984, to return to
Hartford City to spend the rest of her retirement years closer to her family.
Virginia was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in
Hartford City.
Surviving are fourteen nieces and nephews; many great-nieces
and great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. Also a
brother-in-law, John Wrestler of Montpelier.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by
three brothers; Joseph O., Robert G. and Edward A. Risinger; two sisters,
Martha J. Risinger and Kathryn Anne Rose Wrestler; and three sisters-in-law,
Mary Jane, Esther and Jeanne Risinger.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday,
September 8 in the Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City,
with Rev. Lloyd Hall presiding. Burial
will be in the Hartford City Cemetery, following the service.
Friends may call Sunday, September 7 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
and after 9:00 a.m. on Monday, September 8.
