CLYDE R. EHRHART

Hartford City, IN

Clyde R. Ehrhart, 70, passed away, Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at his home.

One of four sons of Clarence M. and Pauline (Williams) Ehrhart, Clyde was born on March 23, 1941 in Indianapolis. He graduated from Jefferson Township High School, Upland, Indiana, in 1959.

Clyde married Betty (Bear) McUne on September 1, 1974. He worked for BorgWarner for 31 years retiring in 1990. Clyde was a member of the Local #287 and also Union Steward for 12 years.

Mr. Ehrhart lived in the Hartford City area for nearly 40 years and was a well known musician in various bands and also the band Country Echoes, where he played lead guitar and sang, along with his wife, Betty, for many years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Betty (Bear) Ehrhart, two daughters, Kathy Curtis (husband, Chuck), Muncie, and Juanita Hazelbaker (husband, Doug), Muncie, five grandchildren: Jason Montgomery (wife, Amanda), Barry Montgomery, Nicole Conner (husband Bert), Michelle McIntire (husband, Steve), and Angie Carrier (husband, Brian), three great-grandchildren: Alexander Montgomery, Angelina Carrier, and Skyler McIntire, a sister-in-law, Flo Ehrhart, of Hartford City, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Clarence and Pauline Ehrhart, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Carl, Wallace, Bill, and a nephew, Paul Ehrhart.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, June 11, 2011 in the Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City, Indiana, with Rev. Howard “Whitey” Fights presiding. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Eaton.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, June 10, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, and one hour prior to services Saturday.
