Connie G. Stump, 66, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2013
in Miller’s Merry Manor.
She was born June 2, 1947 in Hartford City to Wayne W. and
Betty (Denton) Sills. She graduated from Fort Wayne North Side High School in
1965 and later from International Business College, Fort Wayne.
On October 19, 1969 Connie married Michael Stump in Fort
Wayne. She worked as secretary at Naperville High School, Naperville, Illinois
for several years. They moved back to Hartford City in 2005.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, the
church choir, Blackford Community Choir, Women of Worth, Delta Theta Tau
Sorority and had been a Girl Scout leader.
Survivors include her husband, Michael; her mother, Betty
Sills, Hartford City; three sons, James (Monica) Stump, Marysville, OH, Scott
(Kelly) Stump, Oak Park, IL, and Matthew Stump, Monticello, IL; one daughter,
Michelle Stump, Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Jason Stump and Kyrie Stump.
She was preceded in death by her father.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October
19, in Grace United Methodist Church, 312 W. Washington St., Hartford City with
Rev. Dr. Gary Hall and her son, Rev. Matthew Stump officiating. Burial will
follow in Gardens of Memory, Muncie.
Friends may call at Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington
St., Hartford City, from 3:00-5:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, October 18 and
one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
The family requests memorials to Grace United Methodist
Church Building Fund or Cancer Support of Blackford County.
