Jerry Lee “Pop” Lytle, Sr. 62, passed away at 9:50 a.m. Sunday, June 3, 2012 in his home, surrounded by his loving
family.
Born on July 31,
1949 in Hartford City ,
he was one of seven children of Joseph Calvin and Freda B. (Ginn) Lytle and had
resided in this area most of his life.
Also known as the “Music Doctor”, he also was an avid coach
and friend to Little League
baseball and was a friend of Bill W.
Jerry had also attended Mt.
Olive Freewill Baptist
Church and was retired from Fisher
Body (now General Motors Metal Fabricating Division) in Marion .
His loving family includes his wife of nearly nine years,
Kay (Catherine) Lytle; three sons, Jeff (Jennifer) Lytle and their children
Desarae & Randy Phifer; Jerry L. Lytle, Jr. (Wendy) and their children,
Chance Lytle & Destiny Smith; Jesse Lytle and his children, Devin Marie,
Karlie Ann and Macie Sue; two step-children, Heather R. Moody (Wally) and their
children, Haeley and Zach Moody and Steven A. Miller (companion, Steph Baker)
and their children Felicity & Clayton Miller, and a third child due this
coming July. Four sisters, Sharon Jean Eccleston (Dave), Linda Marie Ballenger,
Madeline Jane Keeley (Benjamin) and Joan Bernice Lytle-Delporte (Norman )
and one brother, James Ray Lytle (Janet) as well as several nieces and nephews
also survive.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, one son, Jodie
Lee Lytle and a brother Jackie Wayne Lytle.
Funeral services will be at 11:00
a.m. Wednesday, June 6th in the Waters Funeral Home, 501
W. Washington St. , with Pastor James McCowan
presiding. Burial will follow in Hartford
City Cemetery .
Visitation will be today (Tuesday) from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m. and an hour prior to services
Wednesday at the funeral home.
