A. VIRGINIA VINCENT

MONTPELIER, IN

A. Virginia Vincent, 85, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Miller’s Merry Manor.

Virginia was born September 16, 1926 in Wabash County to Rilus and Doris (Pyle) Gadbury. On February 6, 1949, she married James R. Vincent, Sr. They resided in Harrison Township over 50 years.

Virginia was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She was employed as the Blackford High School principal’s secretary for many years and enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking, and, most of all, spending time with her family.

Survivors include a son, James “Rick” Vincent, Jr. (wife, Diana), Hartford City, daughters, Sheryl Meilner (husband, Larry), North Liberty and Susan Lake (fiancĂ©, David Wilson), Eureka, Missouri, seven grandchildren:  Jenny Eppard, Tammy Bennett, Caleb Vincent, Adam Corey Vincent, J.R. Vincent, Ashton Lake and Joey Vincent and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers, Richard Gadbury and Arthur Gadbury, a sister, Faith Price, and a sister-in-law, Marjorie Gadbury, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband on October 21, 1994; her son, Alan Vincent on December 3, 2010, as well as two brothers, Ralph Eugene Gadbury and Robert Gadbury.

Visitation will be Monday, July 2 from 4 – 8 p.m. at Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City and Tuesday, 12 noon until services at 1 p.m. Pastor David Fleener will preside over the service, with  burial following in Elizabethtown Cemetery, near Wheeling.

Memorials may be made to the American Stroke Association, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
