ORVAL A. TATMAN, JR.



EATON, IN

Orval A. “Shorty” Tatman, Jr., 85, passed away June 30, 2012 in I. U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Tatman was born January 20, 1927 in Hartford City to Orval A. and Bertha (DeWitt) Tatman, Sr. He was a 1944 graduate of Hartford City High School. He married Lois E. Cheney who died August 12, 1998. He resided in the Hartford City and Eaton areas most of his life and wintered in Punta Gorda, Florida for 25 years, returning to Eaton 3 years ago.

Orval retired from Warner Gear after 30 years of employment and owned and operated
Tudor Inn, Hartford City, for several years.

He served in the Merchant Marines in WW II and was a member of the Elks #625 and Moose Lodges.

Surviving are his companion, Jeweldine Beckley and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a daughter, Jacqueline Kathleen and a sister, Wanda Kathleen Tatman.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 7 in Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City with Rev. Lloyd Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. Friday with the Elks Lodge of Sorrow at 7 p.m.
