DAVID E. LINDBLOM


HARTFORD CITY, INDIANA

David E. Lindblom, 74, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2012 in I.U. Blackford Hospital.

David was born September 11, 1937 in Elmhurst, Illinois to Gustav and Bernice (Elliott) Lindblom.  He graduated from Glenbard, Glen Ellyn, Illinois in 1955 and was a graduate of Northern Illinois University.

 He worked in sales as well as engineering for Maxon Corporation (now Honeywell), Muncie, retiring in 1992. He had served in the Army National Guard.

David attended the First Presbyterian Church and was a member of Holy Roller Noodle Makers of the church. He was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity and the former Blackford Country Club. He enjoyed fishing and golfing and was a huge Chicago Bears fan.

David married Judy Ellis on June 2, 1999 in Rhinelander, Wisconsin.

Survivors include: his wife, Judy; two daughters, Jennifer (Darren) McVey, Pendleton, and Michelle Eckstein, Hartford City; two sisters, Sandy (Ed) Haigler, Hatboro, PA and Claire Lindblom, Boerne, Texas; three grandchildren, Caleb McVey, Braydon Kunz and Riley McVey. He is also survived by a special group of high school friends (The 75 Club) who celebrate their birthdays each year.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 18 in Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City with Pastor David Smith officiating. Cremation will follow the service.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 17 and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
